Syrian Refugee Crisis

Syrians are the largest forcibly displaced population in the world with more than half of the Syrian population either fleeing the country or living in makeshift camps. This region has been marked with civil unrest, which has led to an unimaginable humanitarian crisis. There is a massive refugee population living below the poverty line.

In 2013 HHRD became a registered NGO in the region and has been actively engaged with 9 of its humanitarian programs which have helped well over 1 million people in Jordan, Lebanon and Tunisia.

Rohingya Refugee Crisis

Cox’s Bazaar in Bangladesh is home to an estimated 1 million Rohingya Refugees living in 35 refugee camps making it one of the densest camps in the world. Weather conditions, lack of shelter, food, and medical assistance are all factors to a lifetime of struggle and difficulty. The Rohingya refugee camps are the densest refugee camps in the world. With almost a million-people residing in these camps, COVID-19 can have a devastating impact.

HHRD has been assisting the needy in Myanmar since 2008 and scaled up its assistance during the August 2017 mass migration to Cox's Bazaar.

Palestinian Refugee Relief

The Palestinian crisis has led to continuous civil unrest and claimed the lives of countless people. With Jordan taking in over 3 million Palestinian refugees these families are raising generations in tent cities scattered across the region. Children have inherited only hardship and struggle and are threatened daily with difficulties beyond our imagination. The need is great and the work endless.

HHRD is helping Palestinian refugees through Orphan Sponsorship, In Kind Gifts, Education Support, Health Care, Seasonal Relief, Shelter Assistance and Water programs.

Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the Middle East and has been struggling with years of poverty. Over 20 million people are in need of immediate humanitarian assistance.
