Malik ibn-Harith narrated that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said, “Whoever embraces an orphan of two Muslim parents by feeding him and giving him drink until he is independent of him, Paradise will certainly be necessary for him.”
There are an estimated 153 million orphans in the world. Of them, 15.1 million have lost both of their parents. Many live in horrific conditions, where the lack of basic necessities prevents them from moving forward in life.
Meet Tasnia, a 12-year-old whose life transformed with the Join Forces with Al Rahmah School and Helping Hand USA of Helping Hand USA. Orphaned at a young age, Tasnia found solace and guidance through the program, overcoming challenges with hope. Ensuring her education and well-being, the program nurtured her dreams of becoming a doctor. Now, inspired to help others, Tasnia journeys with determination, supported by her sponsor and the program. Let's together pave a path of hope and compassion for every child's flourishing.
For the 2022-2023 school year, the goal is to match $10,000 from the previous school year! As classes are back in person and with the month of Ramadan here, we are confident that the students will still be able to raise funds for this essential program, if we can provide them all the tools to do so!
Al Rahmah School (ARS) has been facilitating the Ansar Program since 2015. This annual campaign brings together students in grades K-8 to compete in raising funds to support orphans overseas through HHRD.
The students accomplish this in a variety of ways, by reaching out to their families for donations, giving their own pocket money, and creative personal fundraisers. The experience is a very special one for the students as they get the chance to write to the orphans and receive letters and photos back from them when possible. It makes them more motivated to raise funds, when they can put a name and face to whom they are trying to help, Alhamdulillah.

For the 2019-2020 school year, the goal was to raise funds to support 21 orphans for a full year, at a total amount of $7665. On April 15th, 2020, the students raised $6834!!! ARS then decided to officially raise the goal to $10,000 (or the annual support of 27 orphans) based on how quickly students have reached the target. For the 2020-2021 school year, the goal is to match $10,000 from the previous school year!

How You Can Make a Difference Every day 5,700 children become orphans. HHRD has 19,100 registered orphans in over 20 countries where they are given the love and attention they deserve. Around 1,600 are still waiting for sponsorship.
