Poverty: The Root Cause

Yemen, the poorest country in the region, is home to over 250,000 Somali Refugees.

Yemenis are so poor that they are unable to travel out of the country, so they have largely been internally displaced within Yemen to some safe cities and places. Those who have come out either are more in numbers in the very expensive country of Djibouti, or to very poor countries like Somalia and Somaliland. There are 20,000- 30,000 Yemeni refugees in Somalia & Somaliland. About 30% of these refugees are school aged children.

Join HHRD in its effort to support Yemeni Refugees in Somalia and Somaliland.
Help provide food packages and cataract surgeries for these refugees.

Make A Lasting Difference

HHRD is registered in both Somalia and Somaliland and our teams are on the ground evaluating the possibilities of other main developmental programs for Yemeni Refugees.

Food packages distribution has begun; packages include:
- wheat flour
- rice
- sugar
- cooking oil
- spaghetti and much more
Before the end of 2020, 150 cataract surgeries will be done in Mogadishu District, Somalia.
