New Zealanders across the nation have come together in a show of solidarity for the victims and families of the March 15th, 2019 mosque shootings that resonated across the globe. HHRD Chairman of the Board Dr. Mohsin Ansari along with HHRD Director of International Programs and Emergency Response Br. Irfan Khurshid are in Christchurch with HHRD Youth for Jordan mentor Imam Omar Sulieman to attend the funeral prayers of the victims and show solidarity with the families.
HHRD USA launched its “Christchurch Solidarity Fund” for the families affected by this tragedy as a heartfelt gesture of sympathy on behalf of our generous donors.
Islamic scholars, imams, and leaders from across the world made their way to Christchurch to attend many the funerals took place on Friday, a week after the deadly attacks.
HHRD representatives met with Muslim community leaders of Christchurch in the Crisis Management Center set up in Hagley Sports Center to provide support and conduct needs assessment.
Dr. Mohsin Ansari met with senior officials from the foreign ministry of the New Zealand Government. He conveyed our solidarity with victims and our gratitude to the government for their support in this difficult time.
