Morocco Relief

Morocco Relief

On March 4th, 2021 Helping Hand USA South California Assistant Manager Issam Lagrichi was in the area for the distribution of 400 dignity packages to flood affected families. Our goal is to continue to help the needy and orphans in Morocco, but we need your support.

Severe wind gusts, up to 45 miles per hour, and torrential rains have caused widespread flooding across Casablanca, Tangiers, Tetouan, Berrechid, and Beni Mellal, Morocco in this month of January. Flood waters have damaged residential buildings, public facilities, roads, tunnels and tramway vehicles.

Helping Hand USA has launched its “Morocco Relief Fund”, with the assistance of credible vetted partners in Morocco, our HHRD Middle East and North Africa (MENA) team from Jordan will assist 300 families with food and household items in North and South Lahraouyine.

HHRD’s Immediate Emergency Relief Operations

Extensive damages for thousands of families, due to these exceptional floods and rainfalls, will require immediate distribution of basic food items as well as, mattresses and blankets. HHRD’s goal is to provide a minimum of 300 families, or over 1,500 people, with essentials to survive the next few weeks. Your support will help a family who has lost everything regain a sense of hope.

With 3.36 million people Casablanca, the economic capital of the country, has been badly flooded and residents remain distressed. Lahraouyine, in the province of Mediouna, is a city located on the outskirts of Casablanca, where 65,785 residents are affected by the flooding. The month of January has shown torrential rain and continuous floods.
