Countless families begin the winter praying they will all remain alive once it has passed. An estimated 150 million people worldwide are homeless while 1.6 billion lack adequate housing due to civil unrest, poverty, natural disasters, or displacement. With your support, HHRD’s annual “Winter Relief” program provides warm clothing, bedding, heaters, and nonperishable foods to help Syrian, Palestinian, Yemeni, Iraqi Refugees in Jordan, Rohingya Refugees in Bangladesh, needy Bangladeshi, Kashmiri, Kashmir Valley, Afghani, Pakistani, Northern Indian and Nepalese families brave these winter months

Winter Package: $100 can help a family of 7 to 14 members through the winter season


In 2018, HHRD helped 50,000 people receive warm clothing and items with your generous support. Let’s continue to help those who are struggling to survive.

HHRD's overseas team members and vetted partner NGOs receive cash grants from HHRD USA to purchase and distribute Winter Provisions locally among the needy, especially refugees, homeless, orphans, and other vulnerable people. Our teams visit local stores to purchase only the best winter supplies at cost affective prices. In some places, HHRD provides coupons, stamped with a specific date, to needy families to enjoy a day of shopping at stores selling winter apparel. HHRD team members monitor the shopping activities, so that proper utilization of coupons is assured. This way everyone can purchase items of their choice.

Winter Provisions include Coats, Jackets, Sweaters, Scarves, Shawls, Gloves, Socks, Hats, Blankets, Comforters, Quilts; Mattresses, Pillows, Thermal, Hot-Water-Bottles, Heaters, etc (varies by country).

Countries of Distribution:

Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, India, Jordan, Kashmir Valley, Nepal, and Bangladesh (including Rohingya in Cox's Bazaar)

Bangladesh:There are over 900,000 Rohingya Refugees from Myanmar (Burma) in Cox’s Bazaar, with 300,000 local Bangladeshi hosts. Due to rains and low temperature, life can be very challenging for these families.

Afghanistan: 750,000 Afghanis returned from neighboring countries where they were living as refugees. Winter can be bone chilling in northern areas of the country. Let’s do what we can to ensure they are kept warm this winter.

Jordan:Syrian refugees make up 10 percent Jordan’s population which also houses, Zaatari camp, the second largest refugee camp in the which houses more than 80,000 Syrian refugees. HHRD’s office is Jordan has been providing relief to refugees since 2013. These refugees include Syrians, Yemenis, Palestinians, and Iraqis, as well as local needy Jordanians. Let’s continue to help this winter.
